In anticipation of the February 3rd match dedicated to Alexander Yakushev, we dug up some unique old newsreel footage from the archives. During the time when Alexander Yakushev shone on the ice, hockey was incredibly popular across the vast country, and players weren't just known by name – they were recognized simply by their skating and unrivaled technique. Hockey players were often filmed, but unfortunately, very little historical evidence from that great era has survived. Nevertheless, in anticipation of the February 3rd match dedicated to Alexander Yakushev, we dug up some unique old newsreel footage from the archives. Many of the footage is virtually unknown, and few have seen it. This makes it all the more interesting to see these icons of Russian hockey. Young, energetic, happy...
