We left everything. Now we are building a sustainable life in a mud homestead from scratch(Day 3)
We left everything behind and now we are building a mud home from scratch. What started as simple chicken coop is slowly becoming something more. we realized that we needed extra storage space and a small resting place for anyone helping us around the home. so, we decided to build a structure that supports our everyday life in a practical and meaningful way. On this day, we focus on building the mud walls using traditional methods. We are working alongside local artisans whose skills and dedication make this process both inspiring and possible. this is real hands-on-work done slowly, carefully with intention. One unique part of this build is that the mud we are using comes from a large ant hill within our compound. Anthill soil is naturally sticky and refined, making it ideal for strong and smooth walls. It is amazing to use materials that are readily available around us to create something useful and lasting. Beyond the construction, this video also shows a glimpse of our simple rural life. Down by the stream, we have started a small cabbage garden. in the evenings, after a long day of building, I spend time there weeding and caring for the plants by hand. There is something really fulfilling about growing your own food, even on a small scale. Watching the cabbages grow day by day, tending to them with your own hands-it brings a kind of peace that is hard to find in busy, modern life. This journey started from a place of uncertainty, but it is slowly turning into something beautiful and meaningful. We are working towards a self-sufficient lifestyle, building with what we have and learning every day. Through this channel, we hope to inspire others to embrace simple living, build with local materials like mud and create a life they can truly sustain and be proud of. Living in a mud house is not something to be ashamed of-it is practical, affordable and deeply connected to the land. This is only day three of our journey.....and we are just getting started. #mudhouse #villagelife #homesteadlife #sustainableliving #selfsufficientlife #offgridliving #smallfarmlife #DIYmudhouse, #slowliving #handbuilthome #chickencoopbuilding
