While slavery was abolished about 200 years ago, modern-day slavery in South Africa remains a reality. Last year alone, the Global Slavery Index estimated that 45.8 million people around the world are today trapped in modern slavery and there about 250,000 modern-day slaves in South Africa. Anele is in conversation with human trafficking survivor Grizelda Grootboom, and various stakeholders involved in raising awareness about human trafficking and combating the crime.
