Hiking Groot Krakadouw | A Cederberg Adventure in 4K

Of all the Cederberg's iconic peaks, Groot Krakadouw has always held the most mystery and allure for me. A short and moderately steep hike from the west side of the mountain took myself, Tess, Christy and Daniel into an otherworldly maze of deep rock fissures, which eventually open above the most dramatic cliffs in the Cederberg. We found a shallow cave to make our base, watched a jaw-dropping sunset over the cliffs, and then slept beneath one of the clearest night skies I've ever seen! The next day, after a bit more exploring, we decided to exit the peak via "Long Street", a deep and narrow crack which took us hours to traverse, before eventually leading us to the path back down to the carpark. Definitely one of the most interesting parts of the Cederberg, and one of the best overnight hikes that can be done in a weekend from Cape Town.
