Ballater Pipe Band lead the morning march into village for 2026 Tomintoul Highland Games in Scotland

Games officials with Drum Major Fiona Glennie lead Ballater Pipe Band, as they started their morning march into Tomintoul playing Cabar Feidh. This was on Saturday 18th July 2026, as they set off marching through the village, located in the Cairngorms National Park, ahead of the 2026 Tomintoul Highland Games. With the band were guest Drum Majors Bill Barclay and Robb Cumming, and Ballater was the first of 3 bands in the march, which included the Lonach Pipe Band and Lonach Highlanders, as the village was celebrating it's 250th anniversary. The Tomintoul and Strathavon Highland Games have been held for 183 years and are always on the 3rd Saturday in July. The village of Tomintoul lays claim to the title of ‘the Highlands’ highest town’ at 354m, or or 1,160ft, situated high up in the Cairngorms National Park, Scotland. #tomintoul #cairngorms #tomintoulhighlandgames
