Derivas feministas y emancipación. Con Jorge Alemán

Feminism has undergone profound transformations, as many as its convictions and questions about what it means to be a woman, which, as Freud and Lacan already pointed out, can never be confined to a universal definition. Therefore, feminism is not only a condition for equality, but also the movement that best represents the full range of social progress in the 21st century due to its diversity. It is thus about guiding a way of building a politics among different and unique “equals,” in order to access a path to emancipation. However, emancipation has no historical law guaranteeing its occurrence; it is a gamble without guarantees because there is no established political subject, but rather one that must come into being. If women are able to decide about their bodies, and embrace all the nuances of diversity, doing so one by one, they will be making “the political” an instituting act. Feminism will then be the political act of constituting a project of emancipation, not a fad or a complaint, much less a privilege of some.
