Detroit Looks NOTHING Like I Expected…
Today I reacted to a video comparing how Detroit and Baltimore are trying to rebuild and revitalize their cities, and honestly, Detroit completely surprised me. I’ve heard so many negative things about Detroit over the years, so seeing how clean, modern, and beautiful parts of downtown look now was not what I expected at all. The transformation honestly looked incredible. This video compares two very different approaches to urban revitalization. Detroit has focused heavily on rebuilding its downtown core, creating a strong comeback story with renovated buildings, cleaner streets, new developments, and a much better public image. Baltimore, on the other hand, has seen redevelopment happen more gradually and more spread out across different neighborhoods, waterfront areas, university districts, and former industrial spaces. As someone watching from Europe, I found this really interesting because I see similar issues where I live in Spain. Sometimes cities focus only on tourist areas while the places where regular people actually live are neglected. So while Detroit’s downtown transformation looks amazing, I also understood the argument for Baltimore’s more scattered approach because improving different neighborhoods can matter more for residents than just making the most visible area look good. This reaction made me think a lot about gentrification, city planning, downtown development, abandoned buildings, public safety, urban renewal, and how much a city’s reputation depends on what visitors see first. Detroit and Baltimore both seem to have potential, but they are clearly taking very different paths. What do you think? Is it better for a city to focus on making downtown beautiful first, or should redevelopment be spread across neighborhoods where people actually live? #Detroit #Baltimore #UrbanPlanning #CityRevitalization #FinnishGirlReacts #AmericanCities #ReactionVideo #DetroitComeback #BaltimoreDevelopment #UrbanRenewal #USCities #AmericanCulture #CityPlanning #DowntownDetroit #baltimorecity ✨ Follow & Support 🎥 Twitch: / finnishgirlreacts 📸 Instagram: @this.is.saini ☕ Support the channel: https://buymeacoffee.com/finnishgirl 🎁 Amazon Wishlist: https://www.amazon.es/hz/wishlist/ls/...
