Cab ride Maribor - Prevalje (Slovenian Railways, Slovenia) - train drivers view in 4K

In this video you can enjoy the cab ride - train drivers view on Slovenia's train between Maribor and Prevalje in 4K/60 frames per second from Slovenian Railways Class 711, a diesel multiple unit, produced by MBB Donauwörth in 1970. It is called Mercedes or Zelenc, running along the Drava river. The line was built between 1857 and 1863 as a part of the Carinthian line of the Southern Railway. Today, there are 25 railway stations on the 75 km long line. On the first 6 km of the line from Maribor there are 6 stations. Between Ruše and Dravograd stations, the line still uses mechanical semaphore signals and wires along the line, which are mechanically operated by the traffic engineers. This is a tourist attraction for railway enthusiasts, as active mechanical signals are rare in Europe. From Maribor to Dravograd, the line climbs 3 ‰ to 9 ‰, and then steepens, from 11 ‰ to 15 ‰. On the open line, the speed limit is 70 km/h, with two exceptions: between the Maribor Sokolska and Bistrica ob Dravi stops (5.1 km), the speed limit is 100 km/h, but trains cannot reach it because they have to stop at the Marles stop in between, and at the 62.5 km marker from Maribor, the speed limit is 20 km/h, for safety reasons, because a huge rock fell on the line some time ago. Modernisation of the signalling installations, central traffic control and electrification of the part of the line from Maribor to Ruše is planned until 2030.
