Exotic ammo for HFT..? RWS .22 Hyperdome + .177 Slug vs JSB Pellets

In this episode we test two exotic projectiles against two popular Hunter Field Target pellets to see how they really perform. We compare the lead-free RWS .22 11gr Hyperdome pellet and a lead .177 10gr slug against the well-known JSB 8.44gr Short and 10.34gr Heavy pellets. With modern air rifles now capable of excellent accuracy, the next gains are likely to come from projectiles rather than the rifles themselves. However, using slugs (and some lead-free pellets) in HFT is controversial. Some organisers consider them against the rules, while others are more relaxed. In the USA and Canada, slugs are explicitly banned from HFT. The .22 lead-free Hyperdome could also fall foul of the "lead or lead alloy – no steel" rule depending on interpretation. This is why "cheat" is in the title — these projectiles might not be allowed at every HFT event. Whatever you use, the most important rule is staying legal on power. All testing was done well under 12 ft-lbs, and the rifle stays sub-12 when switching back to standard pellets.
