It was put on the market in February 2023 with an asking price of £425,000. There have been multiple attempts to demolish the building and replace it with 14 three-bedroom townhouses. In June 2024, Warrington Borough Council refused the demolition plans due to concerns over highway safety, a lack of affordable housing, and impact on local biodiversity. Most recently, in March 2026, there have been reports that the former pub may be reborn as a relaxed bar and small plates restaurant.
