In 1099, in Modena, a highly esteemed artist was called to work on the newly built Cathedral of San Geminiano. In addition to creating stunning sculptures, he left us a written record of his name: Wiligelmo. In this video, we'll analyze the four bas-reliefs depicting the Stories of Genesis that decorate the façade of Italy's most famous Romanesque cathedral, interpreting them in light of the medieval reality of that period.
