Moten Swing Newport All Stars. It was at the Bern Jazz Festival in 2002 where we see a session with some great American musicians under the leadership of pianist George Wein. He started the Newport All Stars in 1954 and is still doing series of jazz concerts around the globe. Here he is accompanied by a group of jazz stars with Warren Vache on cornet, Fesse Davis on alto sax. Regina Carter on violin and Evan Christopher on clarinet. In the rhythm group we have Rodney Jones on guitar, James King on bass and Alvin Queen on drums. They play Basies Moten Swing, one of the the Counts early compositions which he used as a signature tune.
