Discord:   / discord   Right now, there are six stats: Mobility, Resilience, Recovery, Discipline, Intellect and Strength. In Edge of Fate, those six stats are changing to the following: Weapons, Health, Class, Grenade, Super, and Melee - and all armor you currently have will have their stats transfer in a 1:1 ratio What this means is if you currently have a piece of gear with 20 mobility and 15 discipline, when EoF launches, that piece will now have 20 weapons and 15 grenade. This is the case for both Legendary and Exotic Items. These six stats have updated benefits compared to what we have right now, and now gain benefits when their stats exceed 100, up to a maximum of 200 points. Additionally, every point provides a benefit, whereas now only every 10 points provides a benefit. What this means is that 145 weapons is better than 143 weapons. The increase is also linear, so the difference between 143 and 144 is the same as 144 to 145. Now, because mobility, resilience and recovery no longer exist, Bungie is making it so all characters have a fixed value for these stats. Mobility is fixed to what 30 once was for Titans and Warlocks, and 40 for Hunters - however there are new leg armor mods to adjust this higher. Resilience is fixed to what 100 once was Recovery is fixed to around what 60 once was. Second: Stat Distribution Now that we’ve taken a look at the new stats, let’s discuss how stats will be distributed in Edge of Fate. Gear will be split into 5 different tiers. Each tier of armor has a set band of stats possible for the gear to roll with. The bands are on screen right now, but what you’ll notice is that the high end of Tier 2 and most of Tier 3 is likely comparable to the armor you’re currently using, whereas Tier 4 and Tier 5 armor has more total stats on gear than you’re used to. Tier 4 and Tier 5 also gain an additional benefit above just having more points. Tier 4 and Tier 5 both get extra mod energy, which means that those armor pieces have 11 energy for mods rather than 10 energy and Tier 5 gets a stat tuning mod slot, which is an additional slot that allows you to choose a mod that can increase one stat by 5 points while decreasing another stat by 5 points. When you acquire a piece of Armor in Edge of Fate, it will drop with a randomly assigned archetype, and the stat distribution you will receive depends on that archetype. Gear that drops will have 3 stats. The “primary” and “secondary” stat are depending on the archetype of armor, and the “tertiary” is randomly chosen from the remaining four stats. Right now there are six archetypes that will be introduced. This means if you get a Tier 1 piece of armor with 55 stats and it drops with the Grenadier archetype, you may get 30 Grenade, 16 Super, and 9 Health, with the Grenade and Super being guaranteed due to the Grenadier archetype, and the Health being randomly rolled as it’s tertiary stat. There are ghost mods that will increase the changes of certain archetypes of gear dropping, so if you really want to build into that Grenadier fantasy, you can use your ghost to prioritize Grenadier archetype gear to drop. Tier 5 gear is guaranteed to be 75 stats, with 30 in the primary stat, 25 in the second stat, and 20 in the tertiary stat. Set Bonuses Legendary Armor from Edge of Fate will also have set bonuses, which are essentially origin traits for armor. These are perks that are granted when you equip two or four pieces of armor from the same set. This way you can maintain the maximum benefit while still running an Exotic Armor piece. This also means that you could gain the four piece benefit from one armor set, or combine two armor sets to get two two-piece bonuses. On screen right now are two set bonuses that we currently know, however there will be plenty more available when Edge of Fate launches. Masterworking Gear All Armor 3.0 drops (so newly obtained exotics, and all legendary gear in Edge of Fate), will have a different Masterworking System. You no longer need to masterwork gear to receive maximum armor energy Masterworking now increases the lowest three stats on a piece of gear by +1 up to a maximum of +5 in each (or +15 total). This means that if we masterwork that HOIL/Cyrtarachne exotic class item from before, it will be 78 stats with 30 Super, 20 Melee, 13 Grenade, and 5 Weapon, Class and Health. #destiny2 #edgeoffate #destiny
