Better than a weighbridge?

Is there a better way to keep an eye on weight (caravan not personal ;-)) than regularly visiting the local weighbridge? Here's an idea... Consider the likely weight at each tyre of the vehicle - buy the yellow version if it's 1000Kg or less i.e. most caravans and motorhomes under 3500Kg (unless v heavy on one axle - weight plate should be on the vehicle to tell you what the max weight of each axle is) the orange version if it's likely to be between 1000 and 1500Kg - v heavy caravans and larger motorhomes.
