Today I present to you another review of the garden and its changes over the past month. A colossal amount of work was accomplished, including perhaps the most difficult and labor-intensive part: installing drainage and paving the paths and roads with natural stone. We accomplished this, though it wasn't easy. We removed thirty cubic meters of soil, brought in twenty-five cubic meters of crushed stone and ten cubic meters of sand, and laid five tons of stone. Today, I present to you the results of all this work. All that remains is to plant Irish moss (also known as bryozoans) in the stone seams, and to sow and restore the lawn. At the same time, we were actively taking cuttings. Since the site includes other perennials, such as hydrangeas, in addition to roses, it would be a shame not to take cuttings. Moreover, in early July, it is necessary not only to feed the hydrangeas to ensure large blooms but also to remove weak and thin shoots. This removal provides excellent material for vegetative propagation. A few words about the cutting process itself. I use neutral peat for the base, and a simple transparent plastic container to create a microclimate. Then it's simple: take the cutting, dip it in a rooting stimulator, place it in a greenhouse (plastic container), place the container in diffused light without direct sunlight, and monitor the humidity and gas exchange. I use Aminosil gel paste as a rooting stimulator, and I use Aminosil spray to maintain humidity and prevent chlorosis. The results are immediate, and within two weeks the cuttings are rooted and ready to be transplanted into individual cups. When transplanting the cuttings, I use regular peat moss and place Aminosil granules under the cuttings. These granules don't burn the roots and have an anti-stress effect, plus they replenish nutrients, which is characteristic of rapid root growth and development. I also used granules when planting moss among rocks, as the base is sand, and the granules are not only a source of stress relief but also a source of complete nutrition and vitamins for the plants. Take note, I showed the full results in the video, both for cuttings and for all my plantings. And if you're having growth issues, for example with hydrangeas, then the "liquid gold" cocktail will come in handy. For this, use four products per 10 liters of water: 1️⃣ Aminosil concentrate 50 ml 2️⃣ 18:18:18 complex mineral fertilizer 20 grams 3️⃣ Iron chelate 2 grams 4️⃣ Magnesium chelate 4 grams or magnesium sulfate 10 grams. Pour the resulting solution under each hydrangea bush, 2-3 liters. If your water is hard and contains a lot of calcium carbonate, you can add one level tablespoon of citric acid to the mixture. This will help the chelates and fertilizers be better absorbed, as the citric acid will optimally lower the pH. So, we didn't waste any time, and despite the rainy summer in the Moscow region, the garden turned into a precious jewel.
