Transferring your GI Bill benefit to your dependents is an incredible way to set your children up for success. Transferring your education benefits is super easy to do and something every career service member should initiate. Unfortunately if you are already out of the service, you are unable to initiate the transfer at this point. Transferring these benefits are only for service members who have been in for 6 years and agree to serve 4 more years in order to confirm the transfer. Service members can transfer their benefits to any qualified dependents that are registered in DEERS.
