FOLLOW NANCI & ORDER FROM HER BAKERY ►FaceBook:   / nancisbakeshop   ►Instagram:   / nancisbakeshoppe   ►Tumblr:   / nancisbakeshoppe   ►Threads: https://www.threads.net/@nancisbakesh... #CINHK #CookingInNancisHomeKitchen #NancisBakeShoppe ▼BAKLAVA RECIPE▼ ================== Ingredients: •6 ounces pistachios •6 ounces pine nuts •6 ounces walnuts •6 ounces almonds •1 teaspoon cinnamon • ¾ teaspoon ground cardamom •½ cup powdered sugar •2 ½ sticks melted & cooled unsalted butter •1 pounds phyllo dough •1 cup sugar •1 cup water •1 teaspoon vanilla extract •½ cup honey Directions: •Preheat an oven to 350 degrees. •In a food processor, grind and mix the pistachios, pine nuts, walnuts, almonds, cinnamon, powdered sugar and ¼ teaspoon of ground cardamon until the nuts are at the nuts are the preferred size and set aside. •Lightly brush a 9 x 13 inch casserole dish with the cooled melted butter. •Place two sheets of phyllo dough in the bottom of the buttered casserole dish. •Brush the phyllo dough with butter. •Repeat steps 4 and 5 until a total of 8 sheets of phyllo dough have been placed in the casserole dish and brushed with butter. •Sprinkle an even layer of the nuts mixture on top of the phyllo dough. •Place two sheets of phyllo dough on top of the layer of nuts. •Brush the phyllo dough with butter. •Repeat steps 7 through 9 until a total of 8 layers of nuts have been placed in the casserole dish, covered with two sheets of phyllo dough and brushed with butter. •Continue layering two sheets of phyllo dough at a time on top and brushing with butter until a total of 8 to 10 sheets of phyllo dough have been stacked on top of the last nut layer and brushed with butter. •Cut the uncooked baklava into squares. •Bake in a 350 degree open for 50 minutes. •About half way through the baklava's baking time, mix the sugar and water together in a sauce pan and bring to a boil over medium heat (about 5 minutes). •Once the sugar water begins to boil, reduce the heat to low. •Stir in half a teaspoon of ground cardamom, the vanilla extract and honey. •Let simmer until the baklava is done baking. •Pour the hot sauce evenly over the hot baklava. •Let sit for an hour and half before removing the baklava from the casserole dish.
