Ho provato l'Ultima Vera Ammiraglia Alfa Romeo col V6 Busso..

Today we're testing one of the most elegant, rare, and underrated Alfa Romeos of the 2000s: the 166 TI trim with the 3.2 V6. The last true flagship from Arese, created to challenge the large German sedans, but with a completely different character: more passionate, more distinctive, and decidedly more Alfa. In this video, we'll discover its history, its unique features, and what it means to drive it today, in 2026, where it represents one of the last true Alfa Romeo sedans with the legendary Busso under the hood. Introduced in the late 1990s and then significantly updated with the restyling in the early 2000s, the Alfa Romeo 166 was born with an ambitious goal: to bring style, comfort, and driving pleasure to the large executive sedan segment. But the TI version with the 3.2 V6 engine completely changes tone, transforming from an elegant flagship to a true four-door grand tourer, capable of combining refinement and performance in a formula that is almost unrepeatable today. Aesthetically, the restyled 166 has a much more mature and successful presence than the first series, with a more aggressive front end, sleek proportions, and a line that is still surprisingly elegant today. The TI trim adds that sporty touch that makes the difference: a more assertive stance, specific wheels, dedicated details, and a more assertive personality, without betraying its elegant and discreet sedan nature. Inside, we find a typically 2000s Alfa Romeo interior, with a wraparound dashboard, sports seats, refined materials, and a layout designed for those who truly love driving. Despite its flagship dimensions, the 166 manages to convey an intimate, almost coupé-like atmosphere, with a low, engaging driving position and a unique balance between touring comfort and a sporty soul. Under the hood beats the real star: the 3.2 V6 Busso, one of the last great naturally aspirated engines in Alfa Romeo's history. A six-cylinder capable of delivering a marvelous sound, full power delivery, and a mechanical personality that today seems to belong to another era. Combined with front-wheel drive and a sincere chassis, it makes this 166 a fast, elegant, and surprisingly engaging sedan, light years away from the increasingly filtered and impersonal modern flagships. And what do you think of the Alfa Romeo 166 TI 3.2 V6? Do you consider it one of the most underrated Italian flagships, or was its fate as an outsider inevitable? Let me know in the comments!
