Ushiro Ryote-tori Kokyu Ho
Kokyu Ho is one of the technical pillars of Aikido. It is both a strike and an exercise, and takes many forms and execution styles. At Hombu Dojo, classes often begin with some form of Kokyu Ho. Some instructors call this technique Kokyu Nage, while others even call it Sokumen Irimi Nage. There are countless ways to apply it; here I demonstrate what I consider to be the basic form and some possible variations that I use in my practice.
