Resolução Contran 1.015: Novos Limites de Peso para Veículos Sustentáveis

CONTRAN Resolution No. 1,015/2024 formalizes changes to the weight and dimension criteria for vehicles operating with alternative fuel technologies and sustainable propulsion. The document establishes a new ceiling of seven tons for the gross weight per isolated front axle in models powered by electricity, hydrogen, natural gas, or biomethane. In addition to this specific adjustment per axle, the regulation authorizes an increase of one ton in the Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of these units. This legislative update modifies the previous 2021 regulation to accommodate the technical particularities of hybrid and electric vehicles. Published in the Official Gazette of the Union, the measure came into effect immediately to regulate the traffic of these new technologies on land routes.
