We Investigated an Abandoned Care Home in Total Darkness

I returned to an abandoned care home for another paranormal investigation — this time with Suze from Fort Spooky. What made this night especially eerie was that it was Suze’s first full investigation in complete night vision after recently getting her new night vision cameras. With no wind outside and the building completely still, every sound seemed amplified. Every creak, knock and unexplained noise added to the atmosphere. And it did not take long before the place started to feel very active. During the night we heard a series of strange sounds including low hums, unexplained noises and what sounded like return bangs after we knocked — almost as though something inside the building was responding back to us. The building itself has a long history. It began life centuries ago as a private residence, was later enlarged into a substantial country house and eventually became a residential care home. For decades, people lived here in the final stages of their lives, cared for by staff working day and night inside these walls. The care home eventually closed and since then the building has been left silent. But on this night, it did not feel empty. With the whole investigation carried out in darkness, using only night vision, this became one of the most atmospheric nights we have had for a while.
