The park is located near the Fleet Science Center, The Botanical Garden and the Casa de Balboa. Originally constructed as a stone grotto, in 1935 it was the " Zoro Garden Nudist Colony" exhibition during the California- Pacific International Exhibition where paid performers staged "rituals". Today it is a butterfly garden that is specially planted to support the complete life cycle of the monarch, sulfur, and swallowtail butterflies. It is also home to two massive ficus trees and perennial blooms.
