In this video, I'll show you three new laser-cutting ideas using wood – and you absolutely have to try one of them! ❤️ The first idea is a small wooden box with the inscription: "Inside is the most important thing in the world." When you open the box, you see a heart with a cutout – and through this cutout, you look into a small mirror. The message behind it is simple, yet beautiful: The most important person sees themselves. My request to you: Feel free to recreate this project with a laser and give it to someone you care about. Sometimes you don't need a big gift, just a small, meaningful idea. This video also includes a short mini-review of the LONGER Ray5 miniS. This small, compact diode laser was provided free of charge by LONGER to our workshop for people with disabilities for testing purposes. The device does not become my personal property but remains in the workshop and can be used there as a compact entry-level and training tool. I tested the Ray5 miniS at a trade fair, among other places, where we engraved around 400 pens for visitors over two days – anodized pens on the first day and bamboo pens on the second. Despite temperatures nearing 40 degrees Celsius in the sports hall, the small laser ran reliably. In this review, I'll briefly show you what I like about it, who the device might be interesting for, and what criticism I have regarding the exhaust system. After that, we move on to project number two: a housewarming gift box. The lid features an engraving that reflects the new home. The lid intentionally only covers part of the box, so you can see three test tubes inside. One contains flour, one salt, and the third has space for some money – for anything that's still needed in the new home. A small, personal cash gift that's much nicer than just an envelope. In the third project, I'm revisiting an idea from the last episode. There, I laser-cut a large tap from 10 mm plywood. The base was also made of wood back then – it worked, but as we all know, wood doesn't exactly love being stuck in the ground permanently. That's why this time I laser-cut a sheep using a similar technique and combined it with 3D-printed ground stakes. This way, the wood is better protected, and the figure can still be nicely placed outdoors.
