The Jews of Anatolia - Talk with Nesi Altaras

Nesi Altaras is a member of the shrinking Jewish community of Turkey. He is a writer and editor for an online Jewish publication called Avlaremoz. Nesi holds an MA in Political Science from McGill University. His academic interests are minorities in both the contemporary Middle East and in late Ottoman history as well as identity in Turkey. His has done work on Jewish migration from Van, the Sephardic citizenship restitutions from Spain and Portugal, and the Kurdish peace process in Turkey. His writings in English, Turkish, and Ladino has been published in various outlets. Nesi currently is living in Montreal.
