Understanding how this works will enable you to make wise decisions at various points in the process and on what to ask the court to do; "serving a document" - when does the court think you have successfully sent something to someone, and when will it consider that you have received a document? Calculating time periods under the rules - how far ahead of a date must you do something or how long have you got to do something?
