THE AMERICAN COMMUNITY OF ZIMBABWEAN MUSIC LOVERS-The Unexpected Legacy of Dumisani Maraire: Today I'm hosting The American Community of Zimbabwean Music Lovers, a group of mbira players from the United States.It is primarily a second generation of the Dumisani Maraire legacy, as the majority of them were taught by students of one of Zimbabwe's most prominent music ambassadors, Dumisani Mararire. Dumisani Maraire introduced Zimbabwean music to North America, kicking off a flourishing of Zimbabwean music in the Pacific Northwest that continues to this day, and this group is a direct result of his legacy.
