EYEWITNESS - Khoja Shia Ithna Asheri Muslim community Heritage Day

The Khoja Shia Ithna Asheri Muslim community, has a population of around 100,000. This community is spread out over most parts of the world. They have mosques, Islamic centres, schools and hospitals all under the umbrella of the World Federation, which is a non governmental organisation with special consultative status with the economic and social council of the United Nations. Originating from Gujurat in the north west coastal region of India, the community began when they converted from Hinduism to Ismailism and then to the school of the Ahlulbayt. Ahlulbayt tv takes you to the Leicester city jamaat, where the Khoja community mark the first ever heritage day, tracing their roots back some 300 years.
