Zoo Tours: The River's Edge at the Saint Louis Zoo (1999)

EPISODE 68 Take a journey along a mythical waterway through four continents to discover how wildlife, plants and people interact with the world's streams. River's Edge opened in several phases that lasted from 1999 to 2014. Though the zoo is known to impress with its historical structures, naturalism doesn't play part in many areas of the zoo. So it wasn't until the River's Edge came along for the Zoo to be able to say they finally had an immersive exhibit. This 12 acre complex is lushly planted forest, showcasing multiple species from around the world, who rely on the rivers for survival.
