Principal Architect: Kazi Fida Islam Team: River & Rain Location: Himchori, Cox's Bazar Inspired by the vivid sea and surrounding green hills, this villa was designed as a frame for the view, not an obstruction. Sited to minimize site disruption and preserve the ecosystem, it features an off-center entrance leading to a floating portico above shallow water. Inside, double-height living spaces open to backyard greenery, while an airy staircase connects all levels to the rooftop. A composite structure—steel core with RCC—supports varied floor finishes: black polished marble inside, textured marble outside, wood and steel on the deck, and tiles in bedrooms and service areas. Cable-strung railings unify the wood and steel elements throughout. Bedrooms span split and standard levels, each offering expansive views. A sunken kitchen and dining area create a cozy hub, while a rooftop bar and terrace invite evening gatherings. The fair-face concrete exterior and single glazing reflect trees, sky, and sea, creating a dynamic, living façade. Recycled ship planks and concrete slabs set in grass form a soft path to the entrance. Rooted in its natural setting, the villa offers more than shelter—it’s a lived experience of calm, connection, and quiet awe, shaped by the land it gently inhabits.
