Karateka Florian Haas – Als Athlet und Trainer auf dem Weg in die Weltspitze | SWR Sport

Florian Haas is one of the best karatekas in Germany and is already competing among the world's elite. Last year's German champion even won the bronze medal at a world ranking tournament. But Florian Haas has also already made quite a name for himself as a coach. The Haßloch native trains over 200 kids a week at his own karate school: "The best moments for me as a coach are when I see a development, when I notice that this child suddenly comes out of their shell." For Florian Hass, karate is associated with virtues such as discipline, respect, and concentration. He also passes these values on to the kids at his karate school. Florian Haas's career hasn't always been a steep climb. The 25-year-old sees his perseverance as his greatest strength: "I've experienced a lot for my age. And no matter what happened, I always knew what to do next." The next big goal is to qualify for the World Championships in Cairo. Florian Haas doesn't just want to participate: "My dream would be to win the gold medal." +++Up Close+++ Emotions, backgrounds, portraits – we bring you up close to athletes from the southwest.
