The Chinese border is no more than 5 kilometers away. We're at Dostyk station, the start of the Dostyk-Moiynty railway corridor. In September, the president opened the second track—836 kilometers of the new line—to ensure more frequent and smoother train service. Previously a transit bottleneck, this section is now a fully-fledged highway. The project depends on it, determining how quickly cargo from China will pass through Kazakhstan.
