I Decided to Try Carving a SOAPSTONE Bust
I have wanted to try carving soapstone since I saw a little polar bear figurine at a gift shop when I was 11. I thought "A stone soft enough to carve?" and honestly, I wasn't let down. I thoroughly enjoyed this process. I'm not sure if using a rotary tool is considered cheating, but it was so much fun! Tip: If you decide to use a rotary tool to carve soapstone, be prepared for a big dusty mess. I had to wear protective eyewear and a mask. cough cough
