I recently stayed at Kakurean Hidajira, a ryokan located in Fukuji Onsen, Okuhida Hot Spring Village, Gifu Prefecture. Since the hot spring area is situated near the border between Gifu and Nagano prefectures, it was in a convenient location for sightseeing, making it easy to visit Shirakawa-go in Gifu and Kamikochi in Nagano. Located at an altitude of around 1,000 meters, the area remains very cool even in summer. It was also conveniently located, just a 10-minute drive from the parking lot and Akanda, where you can catch the Kamikochi shuttle bus.
