Community leaders walked out of a meeting with the provincial human settlements MEC
Efforts to find a solution on the ongoing protests in the South of Johannesburg hit a snag. Community leaders walked out of a meeting with the provincial human settlements MEC, which was meant to avert further violence. The meeting held at the gambling board collapsed, after leaders accused Dikgang Moiloa of presenting old reports on the housing crisis in Gauteng. On Wednesday, residents of Soweto, Eldorado Park, Freedom Park and surrounding areas went on the rampage over lack of services. They suspended their action this morning to allow for talks with the new MEC, who's only a few weeks into the job. For more news, visit: sabcnews.com
