SUNDAY REACH | 10 August 2025 | 19th Sunday in Ordinary Time | Fr Xavier Dias OP | Luke 12:32-48

On this 19th Sunday of Ordinary Time, the words of Jesus from Luke 12:34 invite us to pause and reflect: "Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." In a world that measures worth by possessions, titles, and social status, Jesus flips the standard. He calls us to place our treasure in God — because whatever we treasure, our hearts will follow. In this reflection, we’ll explore: The faith of the Israelites before the first Passover. Abraham’s journey with no map, only trust. The call of Jesus to stay awake and ready for His return. How to choose eternal treasures over temporary ones. Saint Augustine reminds us: “Live each day as if it were your last, and you will be ready when the last day comes.” Let us learn how to stay vigilant, live with joy, and store up treasure in heaven where our hearts will truly belong.
