A Village from the past

The history of a village in Birtley that is no more. All thats left is two huts that are being used as a garage to repair Cars now. If you walked along the road you would have no idea what used to be there. All modern housing and flats even the school was demolished years ago. The Munitions factory is also gone. So pleased there is photographic evidence left for us. I can remember some of it growing up in the 1960's. Hope you enjoy another trip down memory Lane
