Merbecke Communion service (arr. LJ Phillip) MIDI DEMO

My adaptation & arrangement of the Kyrie, Sanctus, Benedictus, Agnus Dei & Gloria from John Merbecke's Communion service of 1550 0:00 Kyrie eleison 1:17 Sanctus & Benedictus 2:12 Agnus Dei 3:27 Gloria in excelsis The arrangement & organ part was commissioned by the Dean of Bloemfontein Cathedral, the Very Reverend Lazarus Mohapi, and was written in mid-May 2022. It was first sung as part of the Ascension Day Eucharist in Bloemfontein on May 26th 2022, with Dean Mohapi presiding, accompanied by Cathedral Organist Maretha Krige, the dedicatee. (you can follow most of the vocal line of this arrangement from Merbecke's score, but changes to the liturgy of the 1662 Book of Common Prayer meant that his version underwent some modifications by subsequent composers.
