Easy BASIC PIZZA DOUGH Impasto per pizza This simple bread base is rolled out thinly for a traditional pizza recipe. Makes one of the following: 1 x 25-30 cm/10-12 in round pizza base 4 x 13 cm/5 in round pizza bases 1 x 30 x 18 cm/12 x 7 in oblong INGREDIENTS 175g/6 oz/1½ cups wheat flour 1.25 ml/¼ tsp salt 5ml/1 tsp easy-blend dried yeast 120-150 ml/4-5 fl oz/½-⅔ cup lukewarm water 15 ml/1 tbsp olive oil For topping: Tomato sauce 3-4 spoons 1 Onion Some olives Ham 50-60 grams Cheese 140 grams Sift the flour and salt into a large mixing bowl. Stir in the yeast. Make a well in the centre of the dry ingredients. Pour in the water and oil and mix with a spoon to form a soft dough. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 10 minutes, until smooth and elastic. Leave in a warm place to rise for about 1 hour, or until the dough has doubled in size. Knock back the dough. Turn on to a lightly floured surface and knead again for 2-3 minutes. Roll out as required and place on a greased baking sheet. The dough is now ready for topping. Bake at 200C ( 392F) for 15-20 minutes.
