When, after a week in the Tatra Mountains, our legs don't function as well as they did on the first day... :) and we don't want to waste a day wandering around Krupówki Street, I suggest an easy, simple, and pleasant trail from Zakopane: a walk to Hala Gąsienicowa and then through Murowaniec to Czarny Staw Gąsienicowy. A trail for practically everyone, pleasant and not requiring much effort, but also, of course, a good base for more ambitious hikers to the higher reaches of the Tatras, such as Kasprowy Wierch, Granaty, Kościelec, Świnica, or even Orla Perć... From Kuźnice, we take the BLUE trail through BOCZAN. In my opinion, this is a better option for climbing Gąsienicowa due to the quicker views on Boczań Hill than, for example, hiking through the JAWORZYNKA VALLEY from Kuźnice... After 1 hour and 50 minutes, we reach the MUROWANIEC mountain hut, where we also spent a while due to the rain. When the rain stopped, the four of us split up – my wife and older son stayed in the hut, while my younger son and I hiked to Czarny Staw. According to the trail signs, it's a 30-minute walk from Murowaniec to Czarny Staw Gąsienicowy. The path winds over rocks and through dwarf pine. We have to be a bit careful in the rain, as the rocks become very slippery, and it's easy to fall... After 21 minutes (ours at a faster pace), we reach Czarny Staw Gąsienicowy (Black Pond), not many people there – but that's a big plus! We have time to admire all the visible peaks ahead of us, and looking from the left: Żółta Turnia, then to the right, the Granaty ridge, then straight ahead, Kozi Wierch and Kozia Przełęcz, along with the lower Kozia Dolinka, then Zamarła Turnia and Zamarła Przełęcz, and of course, Kościelec to the right. I'm heading back to Murowaniec – according to the sign, it takes 25 minutes. A few minutes later, on the way back to Murowaniec, it literally started pouring! We quickly donned raincoats and descended the incredibly slippery rocks. After 25 minutes, drenched in rain, we reach the Murowaniec mountain hut, where we also dry off a bit, drink some tea, and set off on the return journey to Kuźnice. After reaching Przełęcz Między Kopami (Between Kopami Pass), we don't follow the same route we took up through Boczań. Instead, we head left onto the YELLOW trail towards the Jaworzynka Valley. You can save a few minutes by descending, and then see slightly different views by descending a different trail than the one you ascended. After less than an hour, we reach Kuźnice, and this is where our trip ends! Since we parked our car near the ski jump, the distance we covered was over 17 km, but if we take a bus to Kuźnice, the distance would be about 14 km. I invite you to check out our other posts.
