(By the way - here's how to register on the new system -    • How Registering For NSS Looks Like For 202...  ) STEP 1 - SCHOOL LIST & PIN CODE GENERATION 1. School Upload Your school must upload a list of all final-year students eligible for National Service. This enables NSS to generate a unique PIN Code for each student. 2. Before Upload Cross-check your name, index number, date of birth, and course. Mistakes in the school’s data cannot be corrected later (“garbage in, garbage out”). Use only the date of birth your school submitted. 3. Accessing the System Go to smarthub.nss.gov.gh and click “Check PIN Code” once codes are announced. 4. Link Accounts Enter your email and verify with OTP. Enter your phone number and verify with OTP. Enter your Ghana Card number carefully. NB: Distinguish between letter “O” and number “0”. After 3 wrong attempts, your account locks. STEP 2 - PAY FOR YOUR PIN CODE 1. Payment Options MTN MoMo: Dial *170#, Select 2 (General Payments) → 2 (Pay Bill). Enter “NSS[space][Your PIN Code]” and Reference “NSS”. ADB Bank: Pay at any ADB branch. NB: Complete payment before enrollment. STEP 3 - PHOTO & IDENTITY VERIFICATION 1. Take a clear passport-style photo using your phone or laptop. 2. Guidelines: Plain background, no one else visible. Hijab allowed but not past ear level. NB: Photo appears on your Certificate and Appointment Letter. STEP 4 - ONLINE ENROLLMENT FORM 1. Go to smarthub.nss.gov.gh → click “Register Online.” 2. Fill the one-page form (4 sections): A. Personal Info Email, GPS address (auto-fills district), residential address. B. Employment Info Indicate if employed (working 3+ years, contributing to SSNIT). Upload evidence (appointment letter, payslip, or SSNIT record). C. Regional Choices Select 3 different regions. If employed, first region = workplace region. For pregnancy/disability/marriage, match region to residential address. D. Disability/Health Declare if applicable. 3. Submit Form (System generates your unique NSS Number). STEP 5 - PRIVATE ORGANIZATION PLACEMENT (OPTIONAL) 1. If a private company wants to host you: Give them your NSS number. They apply via myflair.africa to onboard and request you. NB: No physical letter required. STEP 6 - DASHBOARD ACCESS 1. Log in to smarthub.nss.gov.gh 2. Use your registered email → receive OTP → set password. 3. Dashboard contains Appointment Letter, Monthly & Annual Forms. STEP 7 - CHECKING & PRINTING POSTING LETTER 1. When postings are released: Log in → click “Print Posting Letter.” 2. Endorsement: Take letter to your organization (e.g., Bank of Ghana) for signature/stamp. 3. Appointment Booking: Log in → “Book Appointment.” Choose date/time. If no slots, select another date. Print receipt (shows GPS of validation center). STEP 8 - PAYMENT AND ALLOWANCE 1. Categories Subvented → Paid by NSS. Non-Subvented → Paid by organization. Employed → Continue with your employer, pay NSS 10% admin fee monthly. 2. Payment (Subvented) Payment via GhanaPay Wallet. Register with your Ghana Card (names must match). Use your own phone number. Register with ABSA Bank (recommended). Request KYC Level 2 or 3 for higher limits. 3. Letter Distribution Keep original; submit copies to district office and workplace. STEP 9 - MONTHLY REPORTING & VALIDATION 1. Monthly Duty Form Available by 12th each month on dashboard. Print, fill by supervisor, submit to district office (15th–20th). 2. Check Capture Status Log in to confirm submission captured. If not, contact district office. 3. Payment Schedule Registering after the 15th = no allowance that month. Allowances cover 1st–15th each month. IMPORTANT NOTES Verify all entries before submitting; no corrections later. Don’t confuse “O” and “0” in Ghana Card number. Proper photo = valid certificate. Select correct regions, especially for special cases. Register GhanaPay with your own details. Submit monthly duty form on time (15th–20th). Late registration means no allowance for that month.
