Terugblik: Staatsbezoek Duitsland

The Dutch King and Queen were invited to go on a state visit to Germany. Already quite some time ago, because of the covid pandemics. In July 2021 it finally took place, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima spent three days in the German capital Berlin, where they stayed at Hotel Adlon, next to the Brandenburger Tor. At the evening of the first day, the royal couple is invited at Bellevue Castle for a state dinner. Queen Máxima wore a dress of Jan Taminiau and paired it with a smaller setting of the famous tiara with the so called House Diamonds. On the second evening, the president and his wife are guests at a concert held in their honor at the Konzerthaus. That evening, the well-known crime reporter Peter R. de Vries is shot in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, so that the third day starts in a sad way.
