Peter Bossaerts – Deciphering How Humans Deal with Computational Complexity | IAREP 2026

IAREP Keynote Lecture 2026 – Peter Bossaerts “Deciphering How Humans Deal with Computational Complexity” 📍 Castellón de la Plana, Spain, 11 June 2026 – IAREP Annual Conference In this keynote lecture, Prof. Peter Bossaerts, Leverhulme International Professor of Neuroeconomics at the University of Cambridge, examines how humans make decisions when faced with computationally complex environments. Bridging neuroscience, economics, psychology, and computational theory, he explores the cognitive mechanisms that allow people to simplify, learn, and adapt when optimal solutions are difficult—or impossible—to compute. Drawing on decades of interdisciplinary research, Prof. Bossaerts offers new perspectives on the neural and computational foundations of choice under uncertainty and complexity, highlighting how insights from neuroeconomics can deepen our understanding of human decision-making. 🎥 Recorded live at the IAREP 2026 Annual Conference, Universitat Jaume I, Castellón de la Plana. 👉 Watch, share, and subscribe to the IAREP YouTube channel for more keynote lectures from the conference!
