The influence of Abakuá in Cuba, Pello El Afrokan with a unique sound called Mozambique
A Caribbean tale of the African diaspora. After the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro got rid of everything American. The only thing he couldn't get rid of was the influence Rock & Roll music had on the youth. He found an Afro-Cuban by the name of Pello El Afrokan with a unique sound called Mozambique. It was the death knell of Rock & Roll in Cuba, It also gave rise to Salsa music in NYC a few years later.
