A day at Overlook Park - Canyon Lake, Texas

It is free to get into the park so it can get a little busy. The hike down to the shore is not too hard, there is a lot of loose gravel and no stairs. The lake offers a good shoreline with nice blue water to swim in or just to relax by. There isn't much of a beach, just a lot of rocks, no trees, and no shade. If you go the upper parking lot and take the trail down you will be by the cliffs. The trash cans need to be emptied more often, but otherwise, it is a very nice park.
