The Anjouan Debate Faced with the numerous topics that regularly resurface in debates, particularly among those close to former separatist circles, I wish to offer an analysis based on facts and history. On the agenda: • The Fomboni Accords: their objectives, successes, and limitations. • Anjouan's autonomy and the institutional reform championed by President Ahmed Abdallah Mohamed Sambi. • What was Mohamed Bacar's regime really like? An analysis for younger generations. • Separatist aspirations: understanding the political manipulations and external interests that sometimes fueled them. • The people of Anjouan, and especially young people, have the right to know the truth, far removed from the partisan propaganda disseminated by both Sambi's and Bacar's supporters.
