Tim Rice on Frozen vs The Lion King, UKIP, wealth, and working with Hans Zimmer & Elton John
Multiple Oscar-winning lyricist Sir Tim Rice speaks to us on a wide range of topics, covering everything from his relationship with Andrew Lloyd Webber to his political views. The 'Jesus Christ Superstar' and 'Evita' song-writer admits that he and Lloyd Webber did argue on occasion, but retrospectively feels this may have enhanced their collaborations. Sir Tim also reveals what it was like to have worked with Elton John and film scorer Hans Zimmer. 'Frozen' - the biggest Disney hit since The Lion King - is on the agenda, though Tim confesses he hasn't yet watched it all the way through! He does feel it's done a huge amount of good for songs in films, though. Tim discusses his political views, giving us his thoughts on UKIP and the main parties. He ponders whether money makes one happy, and explains how he chooses which charities to donate to. Finally, we discuss one of his favourite hobbies, cricket, and he comments on the recent tragic fatalities in the sport. This interview is © 2014 - Chat Life.
