GIANT Geese Over Water: Quick 4 Man Limit - Goose Hunting the Front Range of Colorado!

Shooting big geese over water is the pinnacle of hunting the Canadian Goose for me. Doing it out of layouts up close makes that much better! What really made this hunt was the scouting report that showed about a hundred geese were landing in this pond early and then swimming to shore and walking out to feed on grass. We knew exactly how to set the decoys and more importantly, we knew we could get them over the water... We killed all but one of our 20 bird limit over the water spread! A few days before this hunt we got a good push of fresh birds into the front range from storms up north. A lot of fresh birds on the front range made this the first really good migration goose hunt of the 2023 - 2024 season. These geese had been using this pond for the last couple of days. Of course, increasing in numbers by the day. We had a snowstorm in the forecast for Friday night. We knew the storm would shake things up and we wanted to hit this pond before the geese started hitting feed. Friday morning we got the layout blinds and the decoys all set up before shooting light and it was over pretty quick. We had our four man limit by 9am.
