This Otter Needed a Hug After Meeting Her Nieces

“Doesn’t Otsuyu ever get to see her nieces (Otter Umami and Maromi)?” Since I get asked this question so often, this time I’m sharing some photos of Otsuyu (nickname: Princess) actually spending time with her nieces 🦦💕 Actually, Otsuyu is a little uncomfortable around her nieces. It’s not that she dislikes them—she does seem to want to get along with them—but… she gets a little overwhelmed by her nieces, who are full of energy and come charging right up to her. Every time they meet, Otsuyu tries to keep her distance, and gradually starts looking at me with an expression that says, “Help…” Once we moved away from everyone else and gave her lots of hugs, she went back to her usual cute “Princess” expression 🥹 Of course, I’d be happy if they could become friends naturally someday. But I also don’t think there’s any need to force them to get closer. The most important thing is for each of them to be able to be themselves at a distance where they feel comfortable.
