I arrived in Kagawa Prefecture on the Miru Miru Land Every "Miruri." I toured some of Kagawa's most popular tourist spots. ■ Takaya Shrine The main shrine is located at the summit, 404 meters above sea level, known as the Torii Gate of the Sky. You can drive all the way to the summit. On weekends and holidays, the road is closed from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, so I went early in the morning. On a clear day, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Kan'onji city and the majestic Seto Inland Sea. ■ Zenigata Sand Art This large sand art is located in Kotohiki Park in Kan'onji City, famous for the Kan'ei Tsūhō coins. It measures 122 meters east to west, 90 meters north to south, and has a circumference of 345 meters. It is said to have been created overnight in 1633 (the 10th year of the Kan'ei era) to welcome the feudal lord, Ikoma Takatoshi. Legend has it that if you view this sand art, you will live a long, healthy life and never be short of money. It's also lit up at night. ■Konpira Shrine Konpira Shrine, famous for its Konpira-san shrine, is an independent shrine located halfway up Mount Zozu in Kotohira Town, Nakatado District, Kagawa Prefecture. The journey begins with a 785-step stone staircase. The shrine is dedicated to various deities, including agriculture, fishing, navigation, medicine, and arts.
