Fly Fishing Madison River from McAtee to Varney - Last Drift of the Season in Montana

Fly Fishing on the Madison River near Ennis Montana is one of those rivers that people dream of fishing. It is a swift moving waterway from the Hebgen to Ennis Lake. We feel comfortable rowing from McAtee to Varney but not further up the river where there are more boulders. #flyfisherman #troutbum #troutfishing #flyfishinglife So our summer of 2024 fly fishing comes to an end with this last drift. We were happy for a nice day with low winds and some sunshine..for once on the Madison. All of our other days on this section of the river in previous years have been windy! While we did not do great on landing trout we were happy to see some smaller trout giving us faith that the river is healthy and in coming years there will be some larger trout to target. We don't fish this enough to know the big bucket holes where the big trout hold. Well thanks for following us on our drifts and hope you continue to watch. This winter in the Rio Grande Valley we hope to do some fly fishing for redfish and maybe some other spots in Texas. Please help us out and subscribe - it is free to you! Hope to see you on the water.
